'At The Base Of The Crucifixion'
This small exhibition in the calm and quiet of the lower gallery at IAP Fine Art, comprised two monotype studies (Woman of Jerusalem I & II), two major painting studies and also engravings and silk-screen studies. They illuminate the choices, versions and decisions Chris Gollon faced and made over 8 years as he worked toward the completion of his 14 Stations of the Cross.
All 14 Stations of the Cross were be used a first time at St John on Bethnal Green on Good Friday 2008. This exhibition coincided with this and with the completion of this historic commission, which has been widely featured in the national press (see Press page).
