In The Beginning
From Jan-Mar 2009, Chris Gollon accepted an invitation from the prestigious Institute of Advanced Study, University of Durham, to become a Fellow and First Artist in Residence, as part of the international 'Being Human' research project. 
HumanSubsequently, 'In the Beginning' (from Gollon's Early Thoughts series) and 'Human' (painted by the artist during his Fellowship at the IAS) were acquired by the Institute for its permanent collection in the grade-one listed Cosin's Hall, adjacent to Durham Cathedral.
