Private collection, UK. This very richly coloured and sumptuous still life painting was partially influenced by Chris Gollon seeing a Soutine still life in New York, which had a chicken hung against a brick wall, and underneath a white tablecloth with tomatoes. Painted in january 2010, Chris Gollon as a partial homage to Soutine has raised a glass in paint to that memory.
This painting is included in leading art historian Tamsin Pickeral's book CHRIS GOLLON: Humanity in Art' (published by Hyde & Hughes May 2010). This work is currently available from IAP Fine Art, London.
