This painting was partially inspired by, and takes its title from a lyric in the track Standing in the Doorway from Bob Dylan's album Time Out Of Mind. Dylan is particualrly good at writing about unrequited love, and in this painting perhaps the white sun is reality, and the black reflection what we see if suffering from unrequited love. Some exhibition visitors have also equally seen this work, with its very powerful gold background sky, and the first version here below, as a depiction of Yin and Yan, or of opposing and contradictory truths.
