This painting is an official study for 'Gollon At Henley', and helped Chris Gollon finalize the composition of the still life aspect of the final work 'Gollon At Henley', which was commissioned by the River & Rowing Museum, Henley on Thames, and kindly sponsored by Beefeater and The American Friends of Rowing.
This work formed part of the exhibition 'Gollon At Henley', at the RRM along with photographs and studies for the final work. It is a fully worked up painting, a still life study. It was available for sale from IAP Fine Art, and until July 6th it was on exhibition at the River & Rowing Museum in Chris Gollon's solo show 'Gollon At Henley'.
As with all Gollon's still life, it hints at a human drama beyond the canvas. It is almost as though one PIMMS glass has left his friends and fallen for a slender champagne glass.
