This self portrait is in a private collection in London. Gollon's self portraits are rare and the images or settings always mysterious. Here Gollon has chosen to exaggerate his hands and cigarette, and to wear an absurd Zorro-style mask. He has also painted his friend and agent, David Tregunna, as if haunting the painting as an apparition. Many a night they have spent in bars, and it was often a standing joke that wherever Tregunna would stand, Gollon's ciagarette smoke would waft his way. No change here in this painting, as it will now be in his face forever. As will this record of a friendship.
