In this painting Chris Gollon again paints his own son and daughter as models for Jesus and Mary. The wounds, as the blood dries on the outside, and drains from under the skin, take on a horrible form. Mary turns away in grief as the flesh of her son starts to become translucent, all blood in his body stopped. Gollon has chosen a neutral yellow (as he did a matt black in Station XII) to depict the background as infinity.
