Through the still life genre, Gollon once more hints at a human drama both within and outside the canvas.
The fallen glass looks dead, and the two glasses to the left look as though they are conspiring in something. This still life could almost be the murder scene in a film noir; or a drunk on the floor halting the revellers' evening.
