SOLD. This painting was the second of a series of studies for a larger painting by Chris Gollon (now sold) called Sad Lisa, partially inspired by the Cat Stevens song of the same title. In his first albums Stevens was very good at writing about lost or unrequited love, and sometimes it was hard to tell whether the lover sung about was actually dead or simply lost to the singer of the song.
