‘NAKED MUSIC': Eleanor McEvoy & CHRIS GOLLON

Eleanor McEvoy‘s latest album NAKED MUSIC of her new songs, some of which she has co-written with Dave Rotheray of The Beautiful South; with Lloyd Cole and Nat Johnson,  was launched in Chris Gollon‘s exhibition of the same title in London in January. The album and paintings have lead to great critical acclaim and media coverage. So much so, Chris Gollon and Eleanor McEvoy have been invited to be one of the headline events at the prestigious Louder Than Words Festival in Manchester on 12th November 2016. The Festival is supported by the Arts Council of England and will involve Eleanor McEvoy playing songs from the NAKED MUSIC album in an exhibition of the Chris Gollon paintings the songs inspired. There will then be a filmed interview with McEvoy and Gollon by John Robb (ex-frontman of punk rock band Goldblade and now an author of a number of best-selling books including The Stone Roses and the Resurrection of British Pop, and Punk Rock – An Oral History).  For more information, click: Exhibitions. ‘Incarnation, Mary & Women from the Bible’ new paintings by Chris Gollon

This major national touring exhibition toured in 2015 to British cathedrals (including Norwich, Chichester, Durham and Hereford).  Chris Gollon was directly inspired by conversations with the Canon at each cathedral, and as a result added one new painting to the exhibition at each cathedral. For Norwich, it was the ‘Madonna of the Apple’ (pictured), which along with ‘Pieta’ inspired much reflection during Lent. For Chichester Cathedral Gollon added new works to the touring exhibition,  unveiling a first time his painting of ‘Judas’s Wife’, which gathered much national press interest including  The Independent and interviews with Chris Gollon on BBC Radio 3’s ‘Free Thinking’ and by Clare Balding on BBC Radio 2.  In 2016, some of the paintings from the touring exhibition will be loaned to other cathedrals and abbeys in the UK. If you would like to receive information when the works and dates are known, please subscribe here: NewsletterTo purchase the exhibition catalogue, click: Catalogue.
